Worth the wait

Episode 197 is uploading to Clips4Sale right now, meaning it will publish maybe an hour or two late. It's worth it. I think it's one of the hottest videos I've published yet. I'll update this post when it's ready.

AWOL again

Um... hi, guys. Been out of the loop for awhile lately. Er... y'all are used to this by now, right? I'm afraid to look at the blog comment logs; I'm sure I've got a shitload of things to respond to. Reasons this time include:

2. Been sick.

3. Been out of town. Actually, going out of town again in a few hours.

Look for a few returning players (including one we haven't seen in quite awhile) amongs the sea of new faces. Honestly, I'm just a little bit disappointed... I was hoping to shatter the previous record for largest game played at lostbets.com, rather than tying it, but I had several players flake out on me at the last moment. Oh well. Maybe I'll do something bigger for the sestercentennial. It still turned out pretty well, I think. You can be the judge of that on January 14.

Coming this weekend: Maia and Catherine finish off their series. The winner gets to tell the loser to do whatever she wants... and what she wants is something we've never seen before on lostbets.com. Hope y'all like it.

An example of what pure chance can bring

I've said a lot on this blog that I really hate to (and hence really rarely) rig the outcomes of the games. Maybe we've experienced some disappointments because of that. But sometimes, when you trust the fates and let the game be played fairly, you get great results.

Episode 188 is an example. Completely fair, and yet the outcome was as good as if I'd picked it myself. In fact, it's better than if I'd picked it myself, because I didn't even know about the one loser's special talent.

This was great, although definitely more in the category of "hilarious" than "erotic." I made the following promo, consisting of footage one camera took after the game and forfeit were over. - Regarding the clips4sale store: I´d suggest to split the videos in 2 parts, since more ppl are interested in the forfeits. Maybe you could do a test and split I video and see if this action is profitable. There should be also the complete version for those who like it;

I've said this before (and I'm still not sure if it's believed), but profitability has never been my main concern with lostbets.com. What's more of a concern is Clips4Sale's interface: basically, right now I already have two line items for each clip for the two versions, and adding additional versions would make each clip take up that much more room. I've seen C4S stores where they've got like 7 versions of each clip, and I find them really annoying and hard to browse.

- Regarding the forfeits: I´d like to see more focus on the humiliation - the players should be really affraid about losing.

Me too, and believe me, I try. The hard part is that if the girl really, really doesn't want to do the forfeit, she won't even agree to play. I don't like asking the girls to pretend to be more reluctant than they are, either, because they're not very good actresses and I'm not a very good director, and so when they fake it, it looks fake.
The solution is to find something the girls really really don't want to do, but offer them enough of a reward that they're willing to take the risk. I've done that on a number of occasions, and it seems to work well.

Viredae, I believe I know the reason for the lack of spicier videos on the membership site. I seem to recall Red saying he prefers to license older videos to that site, and much of the older videos have tamer forfeits. If my theory is wrong, Red will surely point out my error.

I think my Summer of Holy Crap There's A Lot To Do is winding down. This weekend I'm finally hoping to get working on the backlog of emails and blog comments. Sorry again about my inattention.

I hope you'll like this week's update, which features the long-awaited return of one of my favorite girls and yours, Julie. She's bringing an old friend and a new one. 7:20 PM Eastern time today.

Updates and non-updates

First things first: episode 173 is up. I think this one is cute. Hardcore fans, there'll be more for you in the near future.

Now, about the membership site. The tl;dr version: I'm going to make sure everything's right. That's a promise. If you want to know how and don't care about any of the backstory, skip to the end.

A brief primer on lostbetsgames.com: it's not my site and I don't run it or control it. Originally, there was only the Clips4Sale clip store, which I did and do run. I was contacted by the guys who went on to start lostbetsgames.com, with a proposal to sell some of my older clips on a monthly membership basis. After much hesitation and pondering, I agreed, and lostbetsgames.com was born.

One of the reasons I was hesitant to allow it was that they'd be using my marks and my brand, and thus my reputation would to some extent be in their hands. I've always tried to provide excellent customer service and I feel like I've built up a reservoir of good will, and now I feel like it's being depleted because they've dropped the ball. I'm pretty pissed off about that, actually. (Part of the problem is that the original operator of lostbetsgames.com sold out to a new guy, who's proving difficult to get in touch with.)

So, what am I going to do about it? Well, I'm going to try to get them to get their shit together, starting off by publishing the updates they've missed, plus a bonus update for each one they missed. If that doesn't work, I'll yank their links and tell them to shut down. Then I'll publish the updates that the subscribers missed (and the bonus updates) myself, for free.

I'm very sorry to everyone who feels ripped off by lostbetsgames.com. Part of the problem is that this occurred during a time when I've been heavily occupied with other things (which is also why responses to emails and blog comments are delayed) so I wasn't able to give it my full attention until now. Sorry about this, and I'll do my best to make it up to you.

Aaargh, part 2

Um, hi guys. Remember me? I run this site, at least some of the time. A few things:

1. There was an update last weekend, as per the usual schedule. There was no blog post announcing it.

2. There are also about a zillion blog comments that have, to date, gone unanswered by me.

This is because I've been more swamped than usual lately, with tons of crap on my plate, including:

The saga of Episode 164 (or: PN, gb, this one's for you.)

As I type this, Episode 164 ("Strip Bender with Camilla, Taylor, and Nicole") is nearly four hours late. It's gonna be a little while, because it's still encoding. The encoding is taking abnormally long because the video is abnormally long too: over 40 minutes. I hope Clips4Sale lets me sell it at a reasonable price. And a Premiere fuckup meant I had to throw out the result of the first 9-hour render and start over. Which is why it's late. I hope it'll be published before midnight so I can at least say I didn't slip a day.

Why this sudden rush job at the last minute to have a clip ready to publish on Friday? Because this was a last-minute addition to the calendar. Thanks to the advocacy of blog commenters PN and gb, this episode was rushed into production. Yup, two double-update weekends in a row. Don't get too used to it.

This weekend's update first features Zayda and Holly. Now, if you've been following this site, you know that Holly isn't exactly on the Nobel Committee's short list, if you know what I mean. So I figured maybe she'd have better luck with a game of pure chance, where no matter how badly she screwed up she couldn't hurt her chances of winning. Did I work? Double-update weekend

Two updates this week, both of them catering to fans of relatively soft forfeits. Fans of the hard stuff, don't worry, there's some stuff coming up that you'll very much like.

The first update (on Friday and Sunday as usual) features three things we haven't seen in a long time. First, a POV game, where the girl (or in this case, girls) play the game against you. We've only had one of those before, but plenty of requests for more. Second, Strip Mogadishu. And third, the return of who is IMHO one of the cutest girls I've had the pleasure of filming, Julie. Lessons learned

Also, I have a question for fans of The Player Formerly Known As Kat, now as Naomi, although I think she's thinking of changing her name again. As y'all know, I make an effort to get these girls to risk doing things they really don't want to do, adding to the tension and the excitement. Well, Naomi's a pretty free spirit, but one thing she's always refused to do is eat out another girl. Never done it, always said she never would.

She recently contacted me and offered to put her cunnilingus-virginity on the line. Her terms are: one game, one fair game, and if she wins, she doesn't have to do it and that's that. She reminds me that she has never lost a game, except for that one thing at the end of YBYA which didn't really count since the game was extended after she won. And win or lose, she wants... well, let's just say she's got demands. So my question for her fans is: if I go through with this and make it happen, will you want to see the game even if she wins?

Episode 150. Can you believe it? I can't believe it.

Ep 150 features Best in Show, the game they were playing episode 149 to avoid being the dogs in. The editing's a little rough and it could really use some graphics (and the hardwood floor could have really used some padding) but it's funny and you do get to see plenty of Holly. I think this format has potential once the bugs are worked out.

For those of you who are fans of hardcore stuff, that'll resume next week with the return of Erin and Betty Jo.

Gentlemen, I am sick as a dog. Nothing serious, just very annoying and draining. I'm far too groggy to write something witty that will convince you that you must go out and buy this update right away, so if you could just imagine that I've done it, I'd appreciate it, thanks. This one's for you, Mindworm

I've developed an unfortunate habit which I really ought to break. See, after I film these games, it can take months (or in some cases over a year) to actually get it into production. But when I see something especially hot, I get excited about it and want to tell people about it, so I post about it on this blog. Other people read it and get excited about it too, and then they're stuck waiting and waiting and waiting until the video is finally published.

This is a roundabout way of saying that this weekend's update is one that I posted a teaser for a long time ago, and some people have been waiting patiently (or impatiently) for it ever since. Sorry about that, but the wait is over. Enjoy.

I hope you guys like Holly, i.e. I hope that the aggravation of dealing with her was worth it. Never in my life have I come closer to strangling one of my players. (Ordinarily I'd be reluctant to say such a thing about one of my girls, lest she read it and be offended, but I doubt Holly has the wits to turn a computer on, much less use one, so I think I'm safe. If I'm wrong and she's reading this... um... just kidding, sweetie.)

The price of perfection

This week's update is up, and it's not what I'd originally planned to publish this weekend. But I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my videos, and when I saw the final cut of the clip I'd planned to publish, there were literally four seconds that I wasn't happy with and wanted differently. The corrected version wouldn't have been done in time to publish, so I bumped it to next week and published Strip Memory with Sienna and Idelsy instead. As I say in the clip description I'm not exactly thrilled with how this one turned out either, but at least the postproduction was done as well as it could have been. Next time I do a bound tickling forfeit though, I'm having the loser's limbs bound individually and far, far away from each other.

Oh well. If you buy it, let me know what you think. Next week: the return of two other girls we haven't seen lately, and what might be the very last time a particular game is played at lostbets.com. That'll be up to you guys, though. Stay tuned.

Hey, guys, I didn't do a blog post announcing last weekend's update. Sorry about that. Things have been... well, let's just say that sometimes real life gets in the way. If you've sent me an email lately, you're probably still waiting for a response. Again, sorry about that, I'll try to catch up soon.

This weekend will feature the return of Tatiana, Berenika, Iris, and Asia. These are very cute girls (I just love a Slavic accent) but I should warn you guys that you ain't gonna see them doing hardcore. Believe me, I tried.

But their softcore forfeits are pretty good. This one is a draw-on-with-markers forfeit, with two winners doodling on two losers, and I honestly think it may be the best marker forfeit to date. The winners literally spend 15 minutes decorating the losers. There's some great spontaneous dialogue and some very creative drawing. Hope you like it.

Please don't kill me

Today's update (to be published at 7:20 PM Eastern) is a game I talked about a long time ago, but never got around to publishing. A few people have asked me when it'll show up, so here it is. It's Shockinaw, with Ashley, Mia, Julie, and Sammy.

So why am I asking you not to kill me? Because when I watched this video, my thought was, "Man, I'd like to kill the son-of-a-bitch who made these poor girls play this game." In case any of you have the same thought... um... you'd better not try it, I'm armed?

Anyway. This is gonna be a double-update weekend, with another (less cruel) game featuring these four girls to follow on Saturday.

Fight for her honor

Today's update needs a little explanation. First, here's a teaser:



Sometimes games get published out of chronological order. And sometimes, games don't get published at all, for any of a number of reasons... maybe the game just didn't work out, or the footage is especially poor quality, or a game turns out nearly idenical to an earlier game. So while we've seen Kat (later Naomi) before, we haven't seen her games in order.

(warning: the remainder of this post will contain spoilers for some older material.)

The first time Kat played a game at lostbets.com, it was Bush's Last Day. She won that game. Then she played a game that hasn't been published yet. She won that game too. Then she played Screw Your Neighbor with Johnny, Lily, Jane, and Amberlee. And she won that game as well. In none of these games did she so much as even get topless.

Then she played Beer Pong with Daisy against Johnny and Joe. That one turned out a little better (for those of us who wanted to see what she's got) as she ended up naked, but still won, and got to watch the boys masturbate rather than masturbating in front of them. Then there was another unpublished game... she won that one, too.

Which brings us to this one.

So at the time this game was played, Kat had a record of 5-0. But this time, winning or losing is out of her control. This time, she has to place her hopes in the hands of her man. Keepin' it real

This post is prompted by the recent controversy over the forfeit for Episode 133, which did not take place on camera, but it's something I've been meaning to write for awhile. Every now and then someone questions whether something that happens on lostbets.com is "real" or "fake". Was a certain game fixed, or fair? Did a certain forfeit really happen as advertised, or was it staged? So I wanted to clear the air a bit and tell you guys about my thoughts on "real" vs. "fake".

For starters, nothing that happens here (or on just about any other porn site) can be truly 100% genuine, because this isn't a truly 100% genuine situation. These girls and guys aren't getting together to play stripping games for their own amusement, they're doing it because I'm paying them to do it. That right there introduces an artificial element and prevents it from being a true reflection of reality.

Now, that being said...

Commenter Charlie said in a blog comment thread "Red seems to take great pains to keep the games genuine", and this is absolutely accurate. While perfect "reality porn" isn't possible, I have a strong bias towards keeping things as real as possible. This means that I strongly prefer letting the games be played fairly, even if both I and the audience would prefer a particular outcome. It means I prefer letting girls speak candidly, letting their natural personalities show, rather than telling them what to say. It means I try to choose forfeits and circumstances that will cause genuine embarrassment to the players, rather than asking them to feign embarrassment.

But those preferences are not absolute, and just as I've aimed for a variety of players, games, and forfeits, my videos also feature varying levels of reality. In the vast majority, everything is exactly as it appears, the games are fair, the forfeits are real, the dialogue is spontaneous. But while reality is important to me, it's even more important that I make great videos, and on occasion, I've decided that fantasy would be better than reality in specific circumstances.

So the answer is: no, not everything you see here is real. I want to emphasize again that the vast majority of it is, but I've never said that everything is. Some of what you see is not as it appears. I prefer not to talk in public about exactly which episodes have fantasy mixed in with the reality, but if you want to know (I suggest that you probably do not), ask me via email.

(P.S. Every time I've specifically emphasized the reality of something, it's been real. I've never lied about anything like that.)

(P.P.S. When I say "ask me via email", I mean ask about particular episodes. Please don't ask me for a list of which episodes contain trickery and which don't... I don't keep such a list. I also wanted to say that a fan once wrote and guessed which episodes weren't genuine, and guessed wrong about most of them. Some of the things you might most strongly suspect are fake would surprise you. As I said, I strongly prefer keeping things as real as possible.)
